Delcam Opens New Offices in Canada

Delcam has undertaken a major expansion of its Canadian subsidiary in recent months. Delcam Canada has recruited extra staff for its head office located in Windsor, Ontario, and opened additional offices in Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver. The expansion follows record sales in the country during last year.

"We achieved sales growth of over 30% last year," claimed Mark Cadogan, Business Development Manager for Delcam Canada. "This increased business came both from companies that converted from their existing software to Delcam systems and from those that added our software to their existing programs to increase their productivity or raise their quality. The increased use of five-axis machining has been a big driver for our increased sales because companies are finding that they need more powerful CAM software, like Delcam's PowerMILL, to gain the maximum benefit from these machines."

"More recently, we have added the FeatureCAM range of software to our portfolio," added Mr. Cadogan. "This has also driven our increased coverage because, while the mouldmaking industry in Canada is concentrated in the Windsor area, there are companies undertaking production machining across the whole country. With the growth in our local representation, we are better positioned to support our customers wherever they are located."

With the expansion in customer service - Delcam Canada now employs eight support engineers - the company is well placed for further growth. "We still have many opportunities within the Windsor area and, with our new offices becoming established, I expect our growth across the country to continue for the coming years," concluded Mr. Cadogan.
