DEK and AGI Mark Expanded Stencil Franchise Relationship with Technology Open House

Upholding its promise to provide easy access to DEK stencil technology for customers worldwide, the company announces that it has again expanded its global stencil network. Huntsville, Alabama-based DEK stencil technology franchisee and VectorGuard® licensee, AGI, has added a second manufacturing location in Tampa, Florida, an event that was celebrated with a Technology Open House on November 3, 2010.

Customers representing many sectors of the electronics assembly industry attended the DEK-AGI Technology Open House and participated in hands-on tutorials covering the latest stencil design, laser technology, advanced printing techniques facilitated by DEK's Horizon 03iX and details on a novel stencil coating-DEK's Nano-ProTek-- for improved process performance. Reviews of the day were very positive and local customers expressed their enthusiasm about the new operation.

Bryan Beaumont, Senior Process Engineer at leading EMS provider Sparton Corporation, is very pleased about the quick lead times the new facility will enable. "Having a cost-competitive, high-quality stencil supplier based locally is certainly an advantage," comments Beaumont. "In the fast-paced EMS business, quick product delivery is essential and outstanding quality is non-negotiable. We're confident DEK and AGI can provide both."

The new DEK - AGI Tampa facility will serve customers residing in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Puerto Rico and Virginia. Like all DEK stencil franchisees, this operation will utilize the industry's latest stencil processing technologies, advanced laser systems and will comply with DEK-approved quality standards. What's more, AGI's status as an official licensee of DEK's award-winning VectorGuard frameless stencil system and its latest Nano-ProTek stencil coating technology ensures a more comprehensive approach to customers' processes improvement initiatives.

"Extending our relationship with AGI was a clear win-win-win," comments DEK's David Byrd, Global Engineered Products Manager. "The Alabama facility has provided an undisputed competitive advantage for local customers, and we expect the DEK-AGI Tampa facility to produce similar results. Underpinned by DEK's proven high standards for stencil manufacture and the flexibility to offer exceptional technologies such as VectorGuard and Nano-ProTek, AGI's success is a near certainty and customers will be the ultimate beneficiaries."
