DDP Granted Five-Year U.S. GSA Contract for the Design and Development of Energy Saving LED Lighting Products

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (March 14, 2007) - DDP, a leader in engineered LED solutions, has been awarded a five-year contract by the U.S General Services Administration (GSA) for its wide range of LED lamp assemblies. DDP's contract award, under GSA Schedule 056, FSC 62 - solar energy systems, energy saving lighting products and specialty lighting - is for the contract period of October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2011. GSA contract awards enable government agencies to easily purchase from contract holders by simplifying procurement procedures, reducing lead times and lowering administrative costs. DDP's GSA contract number is GS-07F-0016T (Schedule 056).

DDP's LED systems can be designed for general illumination, specialty lighting, or for retrofitting and replacing traditional incandescent lamps. Its solid-state lighting systems are energy-efficient and significantly reduce power consumption. Resistant to harsh environment conditions such as shock and vibration, DDP's LED assemblies are not affected by on/off operation or cold filament inrush currents and have an average life of 100,000 hours - reducing maintenance and replacement costs. The reliable LED assemblies also feature consistent color and brightness levels, and the warm and white colors of DDP's LEDs mirror the brightness of traditional incandescent lighting.

"We are pleased to be working with the GSA in order to supply federal, state and municipal governments LED lighting systems that decrease power consumption, reduce operating temperatures and lower maintenance costs," said Tony Toniolo, DDP President. "DDP LED assemblies improve the overall efficiency of lighting systems and can be designed to allow for easy retrofitting and replacement of incandescent light bulbs."

These LED assemblies can be designed to meet specific color and brightness levels to ensure a clean light output without any color mixture, a requirement for many applications such as railroad and subway stations and train cars as well as military and aerospace applications.

Available in either standard or custom assemblies, the LED assemblies are also ideal for general illumination, automotive and transportation, and industrial applications. Samples are available from DDP with a typical lead-time of stock to one week.
