DayMark® Safety Systems will be Officially Entering The Professional Cleaning Industry Beginning in 2019

Bowling Green, OH – DayMark® Safety Systems will be officially entering the professional cleaning industry beginning in 2019.

DayMark, based in Bowling Green, Ohio, was founded in 1989 by Jeff Palmer, today the company's president. For most of the company's history, it has designed, engineered, and developed products for the foodservice industry in North America. Today, it also markets those products in many parts of Europe as well as the Middle East.

"But now we realize that many of our products are perfect for use in the jansan industry," says Duane Carey, DayMark's Director of Business Development. "These products can help end-customers significantly as well as present a big [sales] opportunity for jansan distributors."

Among the DayMark products he is referring to are the following:

  • Anti-fatigue floor mats designed specifically for use in wet environments
  • Test strips and chlorine safe-check systems that help determine the ongoing efficacy of cleaning sanitizers
  • Unexpected tools such as dolly gators to help transport large trash cans
  • Absorbent biohazard spill pads for cleaning up spills or when someone gets sick
  • Needle drop cabinets for safe disposing of needles as well as many types of sharp items
  • A wide range of floor care products including multilingual wet floor signs
  • Small and large OSHA- and ANSI-compliant first aid kits
  • Several types of gloves to protect workers performing a variety of different cleaning tasks

One of the items Carey believes will be most promising for jansan distributors to market are the company's high-margin first aid kits.

“Many people in our industry do not realize their customers are required to have a first aid kit in the workplace. By discussing this with them [and having a kit on hand], they can better care for an injured worker and be in compliance with OSHA."

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s first aid regulation, 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.151:

In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid. Adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available.

"The real value here is our ability to help the jansan distributor open up new revenue streams with new products to for existing customers," adds Carey. "Where their trucks already stop weekly if not daily delivering low margin products, this is an opportunity to deliver some high margin juice.”
