Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental Operator Receives SC&RA Crane Operator Safety Award

Milwaukee - March 11, 2011 - Ronald Kading, an employee of Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, Inc., is a winner of SC&RA's 2011 Crane Operator Safety Award. The award is given to crane operators with outstanding safety records. According to Beth A. O'Quinn, SC&RA vice president, "Accumulating 10,000 man hours without a single recordable injury or illness is an impressive accomplishment and deserving of industry recognition."

SC&RA guidelines state that a winner of the award "Exemplifies the company's commitment to safety and as a safety advocate considers what steps to take to perform the job safely prior to commencement of all activities. ... [and is] constantly looking to improve his crane operator knowledge and skills and follow best practices."

Steve Freckmann, Dawes General Manager, says, "This is a great recognition for Ron and for Dawes as well. Safety awards have the added benefit of spreading the safety message to the rest of the employees working around them."

Dawes, based in Wisconsin since 1947, is one of the seven founding members of SC&RA.
