With Connexion Technologies, D.R. Horton brings benefits of FTTH to homeowners
HICKORY, N.C. Corning Cable Systems LLC, part of Corning Incorporated's (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, announces that D.R. Horton, Inc. has joined its Corning Connected Community(TM) Program. Through a partnership with Connexion Technologies, one of the nation's premier fiber optic amenity companies, D.R. Horton Homes will use the benefits of the Corning Connected Community program to bring the life-enhancing benefits of fiber to the home (FTTH) to its homeowners.
Corning Cable Systems developed the Corning Connected Community Program to assist homebuilders and community developers implementing fiber optic infrastructures into their building plans. Connexion Technologies, which designs, builds and operates fiber optic networks for developers, is an "aggregator" member of the program and has extended its membership benefits to D.R. Horton Homes. Connexion Technologies has built networks for more than 10 D.R. Horton Homes properties in Florida and plans to continue building networks throughout the country in the future.

To qualify as a Corning Connected Community, each connected neighborhood must provide symmetrical service to all homes via fiber optic connection directly to the home. Most of today's non-fiber broadband technologies, such as cable modem and DSL, offer not only lower speeds, but also asymmetrical service, meaning higher data rates downstream to the home and much slower speeds upstream from the home.
Corning Cable Systems will provide D.R. Horton Homes and Connexion Technologies with its flexible, high-quality FTTH products and services, ensuring their customers have the most advanced and reliable technology infrastructure. In addition, Corning Cable Systems will help educate potential customers on the benefits of FTTH and the Corning Connected Community(TM) Program.
