Creative Pultrusions, Inc. Installs New Dust Collection System -- Safer Facility for Employees

Creative Pultrusions, Inc. has completed installation, of an Imperial Systems, Inc. dust collector system, in the pultrusion facility. This unit is engineered with safety features to protect the employees and facility. OSHA has found that dust created from composite manufacturing, such as pultrusion, is combustible. This dust, when mixed with air and an ignition source, is capable of forming an explosive mixture.

"Dust explosions are quite rare. A combination of many things has to go wrong at the same time for a dust explosion to occur. However, if a dust explosion does occur it will be catastrophic," explains Ron Allison, Director of Engineering. "Just having a dust collector without the proper safety controls can increase the risk of a dust explosion. It takes good housekeeping practices, maintenance procedures, training and a dust collector with the properly engineered safety controls to eliminate the risk of a dust explosion."

"Creative is committed to improving the work environment for our employees and focusing to keep OSHA Regulations 100% satisfied," states Shane Weyant, CEO/President. "Our commitment of installing the dust collection system satisfied these important issues with our employees and OSHA in promoting safety in the workplace."
