Cost to Produce Small Bottles Drops !

Wilmington, NORTH CAROLINA --- Wilmington Machinery, designers and builders of cost effective, highly specialized, quality processing machinery, has introduced an innovative solution for producing single serve containers from 100 ml to 500 ml for either monolayer or multilayer configurations.

The key to Wilmington's new "SB" series (Small Bottle) is an economical, continuous rotary blow molder system utilizing small individual molds with a unique design that eliminates hot flash. This technological breakthough significantly cuts equipment costs...plus reduces the operating cost while allowing for less expensive and simplified bottle trimming.

Wilmington's "SB" series has become available to the marketplace at a key time in that single serve food and beverage packaging is one of the fast growing segments for plastic bottles. Convenience, high quality decoration, packaging safety, higher profit margins and increased consumer demand are all reasons for new product growth in the single serve sector. Whether the need is for light weight HDPE bottle for milk and drink products or multilayer containers for barrier or hot fill applications, producers are looking for economical blow molding options. Wilmington's new "SB" series meets that need.

"We are excited about offering high quality rotary systems at prices typical associate with shuttle and reciprocating machinery" say Jeff Newman, VP with Wilmington Machinery.

Newman points out that: "People recognize the quality and piece price advantage associated with single parison high speed wheels. In the past, the price of wheel systems has been cost prohibitive except for very high volume applications. The Wilmington "SB" series single parison machines compete with reciprocating screw technology pricing with the added advantage of having multilayer capability and much higher production rates. Superior bottle quality, lower piece price, small foot print and lower operating cost make the technology very attractive for any one producing small bottles."

Wilmington "SB" series models are available in a variety of sizes (18 to 60 cavities) with 1 to 7 layers extrusion configurations. Ideal products for the new Wilmington "SB" series include liquid yogurt, all single serve dairy products, hot fill drinks, juices and single serve retort beverages.

For more than three decades, Wilmington Machinery has been designing and building high quality specialty and standardized Rotary Blow Molding Machines, and Structural Foam Machines. For additional details about Wilmington "SB" series contact: Jeff Newman, (910) 452-5090.
