Companies join forces to help business publishers accelerate revenue generation, agreement expands Convera's existing portfolio of business verticals
VIENNA, Va., July 2 -- Convera Corporation (NASDAQ:CNVR) -- convera.com/ -- a leading provider of vertical search services for publishers, has signed a partnership agreement with e-media consulting practice and search engine marketing services firm, SearchChannel LLC. According to the agreement, the two companies will cooperate to provide publishers with a broader, more comprehensive range of vertical Web search and advertising services.
SearchChannel will provide its considerable expertise and experience in helping Convera develop online business solutions specifically for B-to-B publishers. In addition, SearchChannel will provide Convera's customers a range of search marketing services, including search engine optimization, online advertising sales training, and revenue and analytics modeling.
Under the terms of the agreement, SearchChannel will also integrate its existing vertical search engines, which SearchChannel owns and operates, with Convera's vertical Web search platform. These include enginek.com in the marketing industry, dwellingwell.com in the home furnishings segment, and others in such industries as human resources, pharmaceuticals, and business travel.
The agreement expands Convera's existing portfolio of business verticals and reinforces Convera's strength as provider of vertical search services for specialty content publishers. Convera has recently won major deals to provide hosted vertical search services to several of the world's leading business publishers including United Business Media, the Nielsen Company, John Wiley and Sons, Incisive Media, Centaur Media, Lebhar Friedman and Euromoney Institutional Investor.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
