Consulting Specifying Engineer Magazine Selects Falcon Electric's FN Series UPS as a 2015 Product of the Year Finalist

Highly Efficient and Scalable Rackmount 10kVA UPS is a Front-runner in Emergency, On-Site, Standby Power Category

IRWINDALE, Calif. – Falcon Electric, Inc., a leader in on-line UPS and backup of mission-critical applications deployed in harsh environments, announces that its FN Series uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a finalist in the 11th annual Product of the Year awards sponsored by Consulting Specifying Engineer (CSE) Magazine. The annual Reader’s Choice awards provide the magazine’s readers with information about top new products in their fields. CSE’s subscribers can vote until June 26, 2015 for their favorite products via this website link: http://bit.ly/1D49H3u.

“Our consulting engineers and end-user customers are looking for power protection solutions that are highly reliable, efficient and can scale as power loads change,” said Ron Seredian, vice president of marketing for Falcon Electric. “The FN’s N+1 redundancy and 97% efficiency make the FN a true standout in its class. We are very pleased that the CSE judges have chosen our FN as a finalist in this sought-after award.”

Falcon’s FN Series uninterruptible power supply (UPS) bridges the gap between scalability and modularity by giving customers an affordable solution for power protection as their backup needs increase.

Stand-Alone Units Lower Costs

In contrast to most modular scalable UPSs, the FN is a compact, stand-alone UPS that can be connected in parallel. This economical approach eliminates the added expense of buying cabinets to house control, power and battery modules. Each 10kVA module is a standalone UPS and when connected in parallel in an N+1 configuration, the UPS units can be serviced or replaced without powering down the remaining UPS units or powering down the connected load.

Scalable Tower and Rackmount UPS up to 40kVA

The FN UPS can easily be configured using individual 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 10kVA models, providing up to 30kVA with N+1 redundancy. Alternate parallel configurations of 6 to 40kVA are achievable if N+1 redundancy is not required.

Moreover, battery banks are hot-swappable, while the UPS and connected equipment are in full operation. After battery bank removal, the individual batteries are user replaceable. For extended backup times, optional battery banks and chargers are available. Consulting engineers will also appreciate the FN’s ability to easily integrate into NEMA-rated enclosures for outdoor environments.

The FN true double-conversion on-line UPS provides the highest level of protection against costly power problems such as blackouts, brownouts, surges and transients. As with the other models in the family, the new 10kVA model can be easily programmed for use as a 50Hz or 60Hz frequency converter, making it the ideal choice for worldwide power applications.

This highly efficient UPS also features an Eco Green Mode setting that automatically increases the AC/AC efficiency up to 97% when connected equipment is turned off, reducing overall energy consumption and the associated greenhouse gas emissions. When not in Eco Mode, the UPS performs at an impressive 90% efficiency level.

Available now, the FN Series Scalable N+1 UPSs are UL 1778, cUL listed and meet CE and FCC Class A requirements. For more information, contact Falcon at 800-842-6940 or email info@FalconUPS.com.
