Cleversafe to Present at SNIA 2010 Storage Developers Conference on Cloud Security and Data Loss

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 16 -- Cleversafe Inc., the leader in resilient storage solutions ideally suited for cloud storage, announces that it will be presenting at two sessions at the 2010 Storage Developer Conference on September 21 and 22, on the topics of cloud security and data loss.
Jason Resch, Sr. Software Engineer, will speak on the topic "Solving Data Loss in Massive Storage Systems" and will explain the evolution of data storage techniques, and why current solutions are not adequate for reliably storing data in large systems or in the future as disk sizes increase. The solution presented will be a system with tunable levels of reliability through erasure codes, allowing reliability to scale with the size of storage systems. The presentation is slated for Tuesday, September 21st at 3:05 PM.
Julie Bellanca, founder and director, will co-present with Jason Resch on the topic "Cloud Security Using Information Dispersal" discussing the impact of security around cloud storage and how emerging approaches like information dispersal can help address. Information dispersal is suited for developing cloud storage for its ability to divide data into fragments and stored on separate hardware appliances across multiple data centers. Since data is stored in fragments, full copies of files do not exist on any single piece of hardware, offering an attractive security alternative to traditional storage methods for the cloud. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 22nd at 4:05 PM.
Cleversafe is a member of SNIA, and is active within the latest SNIA Architecture standard, the Cloud Data Management Interface (CDMI) . CDMI is the first industry-developed open standard for cloud computing and allows for interoperable cloud storage implementations from cloud service providers and storage vendors.
