CIBER Wins Three-Year IT Contract with Gate Gourmet

RESTON, Va. - Sep. 5, 2006 - CIBER, Inc. (NYSE: CBR) today announced that the Information Technology Operations (ITO) practice of its CIBERsites® division has been awarded a three-year, multi-million dollar IT contract with Reston, Virginia-based Gate Gourmet, Inc., the world's largest independent provider of airline catering and logistics. The initiative, dubbed Project Gateway, has CIBER hosting, maintaining and supporting Gate Gourmet's Global Technology Center (GTC), a shared-services facility that houses mission-critical IT applications serving Gate Gourmet's 22,000 employees around the world.

The multi-phase implementation of the initiative has begun, with the first phase of the project being completed within just a few short months. Currently, the GTC comprises more than 200 servers hosting a variety of applications, such as SAP R/3, Business Warehouse (BW), and several custom-written line-of-business applications. The broad range of technologies deployed at the center include servers from HP and SUN, Microsoft applications such as SQL Server and Exchange, Citrix server-based computing platforms and Oracle's Real Application Cluster (RAC). During the current phase, CIBER is migrating Gate Gourmet's existing SAP development and QA environments from their locations in Germany and Switzerland to the Global Technology Center. And in the next phase, Gate Gourmet's global e-mail systems will be consolidated.

Currently, Gate Gourmet has data center operations located in several countries around the world. By centralizing IT operations into CIBER's Staten Island, N.Y. facility, CIBER will help Gate Gourmet reduce costs and simplify application maintenance, freeing up valuable resources that can be redeployed to other initiatives within the organization.

This is the second IT project for which Gate Gourmet has chosen CIBER this year. In January, CIBER was selected to provide technical and help desk support to Gate Gourmet's 5,000 U.S.-based employees, and to administer the firm's automatic call distribution service, which fields thousands of technical support calls per month.

As a leader in a highly competitive industry, Gate Gourmet is always seeking ways to increase business flexibility, reduce costs, and implement more efficient business processes. This project will help Gate Gourmet realize that goal by providing greater bandwidth, faster transmission speeds, increased reliability, standardized business processes, simplified application maintenance, and a hosting solution that integrates with CIBER's help desk services, provided under the contract awarded in January.

"We are very impressed with CIBER's expertise in technical areas, business processes, and project management," said Ed Mitzel, Global Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President, Gate Gourmet, Inc. "We need a partner who understands the importance of our projects to us, is flexible, and who focuses on our end goals. We also need someone who can take a complex IT situation and simplify it, while assisting us with business process improvements and change management objectives. We found that with CIBER."

"This win demonstrates CIBER's breadth and depth of experience, and our ability to provide world-class, full-service IT solutions that are reliable, efficient, and cost-effective," said Tim Boehm, President of CIBERsites®. "Our vendor-neutral stance enables us to support multiple IT platforms, whether they are from SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, or others. Our primary focus is our client. We will measure our success by their success."

Gate Gourmet's 22,000 employees prepare more than 225 million meals each year for airline passengers from the firm's 109 flight kitchens in 29 countries. Catering to more than 250 airline customers, Gate Gourmet is based in Reston, Va., and Zurich, Switzerland.
