Chicago Region of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP Completes Relocation to State-of-the Art Facility at 111 S. Wacker Drive

More Than 3,000 Chicago Members of the Deloitte U.S. Firms Unite in One Building to Accommodate Growth, Encourage Collaboration and More Effectively Serve Clients

CHICAGO, July 19 -- The Chicago region of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, the city's largest professional services firm, today announced the completion of its relocation to 111 S. Wacker Drive, a John Buck Company development. The building is located in the West Loop neighborhood at the intersection of Wacker Drive and Monroe Street and was designed by the renowned Lohan Caprile and Goettsch Architects of Chicago. Deloitte occupies approximately 45 percent of the new building (Floors 12-28), making the 111 S. Wacker location the firm's second largest U.S. office.

Prior to the move, Deloitte's Chicago members were housed in sites around the city, including Prudential Plaza, the Aon Center and 222 S. Riverside Plaza. The decision to relocate was made following a significant period of growth beginning in 2001, at which point a comprehensive evaluation of building sites was conducted. The lease for the 111 S. Wacker property was signed in October 2002, with factors such as growth accommodation, geographic location, financial benefits and workplace flexibility considered in the decision-making process.

"We are thrilled to be in this beautiful new building and to be a part of the thriving West Loop neighborhood," said Deb DeHaas, Vice Chairman and Midwest Regional Managing Partner, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP. "As Chicago's largest professional services firm, we felt it was important to have all our people under one roof in order to encourage collaboration between our teams and enable us to pursue integrated, comprehensive solutions for our clients."

The structure provides Deloitte with the latest advances in business technologies that will allow for heightened productivity and convenience, featuring wireless network access, high speed data and voice connections, as well as built-in AV equipment, central control panels, microphones and a video conferencing room.

The Deloitte office was designed as an open space environment, where offices surround the core, rather than the perimeter of the floor, with workstations and conference rooms with glass exteriors lining the outer ring of the floor. This design change allows natural light to flow in, unobstructed by walls and office doors, and creates a brighter and less stale working environment.

"We were quite fortunate to secure Deloitte in 2002 as the anchor tenant for 111 South Wacker Drive," says developer John Buck. "Their commitment to the building and to Chicago insures the success of this development as well as the popular West Loop submarket."

The 111 S. Wacker location offers members of Deloitte's Chicago office ideal proximity to public transportation hubs, expressways, financial exchanges, major banks, courthouses and many major corporations. Other amenities of the new building include a fitness center, public parking and a restaurant that will open in the Spring of 2006.

Deloitte is a strong supporter of the Chicagoland community, with a long record of ongoing service initiatives. As a reflection of that value, an open call for Chicago artists to submit works was issued in the months prior to the move. The goal, developed with the help of Art Advisory, Ltd., a full-service corporate and residential art consulting firm, was to create a thoughtful and inspiring art collection that reflects the pulse and energy of Chicago. The result is a collection of fifteen individual "shows," one on each floor. Themes for the shows include "My Kind of Town," featuring a variety of Chicago scenes, "Terra Firma," a collection of work focused on the earth, "In Full Bloom," featuring flowers, and "On the Move," a collection of artwork in action -- to name a few.

"Not only did we feel it was important to create an environment that met our business requirements, but also that our new space reflected our strong commitment to the Chicagoland community," said DeHaas. "This collection of art is something that does just that, by showcasing the talent of our local artists along each and every hallway of our new space. It is something that we are very proud of."
