Channellock, Inc. Enhances Most Popular Plier: The 420®

MEADVILLE, Pa. - February 16, 2007 - Channellock, Inc., announced today improvements to their flagship plier - the 420® tongue and groove plier. Originally introduced in 1933, the 420® is the standard by which all other tongue and groove pliers are judged. The 420® will now feature a wider, more substantial nose, providing a larger gripping surface area in addition to a stronger, longer-lasting tool. The design enhancements are being made on current shipments of the 420®.

"At Channellock, we're always looking for ways we can improve our products," said Scott Jonap, vice president of sales and marketing. "What we've done is made the 420® a more heavy duty 9.5" tongue and groove plier than it already was - offering even more benefits to the end user."

Of course, all of the plier's signature features remain: high carbon drop-forged steel construction, PermaLock® fastener that eliminates nut and bolt failure, laser heat-treated jaws for maximum gripping strength and durability and an undercut tongue and groove design that won't slip. The 420® is available in both the famous CHANNELLOCK BLUE® and Code Blue® comfort grips.

The Channellock name is synonymous with premium durability and reliability, and its line of tongue and groove pliers has carried the flag for more than 70 years.
