Change of Top Management at Dürr in North America Mike Boss Appointed New CEO and President

Southfield, December 3, 2018 – Effective December 3, Mike Boss will take over the lead of Dürr Systems, Inc. from Bruno Welsch, who moves on to pursue his career in Dürr’s German Senior Executive Management.

He is well acquainted with Dürr from his time at Ford," says Bruno Welsch, who will in his new position as Member of the Board of Dürr Systems AG be responsible for the worldwide activities of Dürr´s Paint and Final Assembly Systems division.

Mike Boss studied chemical engineering, holds an MBA in Business Administration and is an expert on the automotive industry. He began his professional career at the Ford Motor Company in 1988, where he held different management positions mainly in the paint area. These included Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Paint - Ontario Truck Plant, Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Body Construction - Kansas City, Paint Area Manager - Norfolk Assembly Plant, Paint Area Manager - Kansas City Assembly Plant, Manager - Paint Production Engineering and for the last 9 years he was Chief Engineer - Global Paint Engineering. The manager spent a total of 30 years at the Ford Motor Company.

As CEO and president, Mike Boss will be responsible for Dürr Systems Inc.´s overall activities in the areas of Paint and Final Assembly, Application Technology and Clean Technology in North America.

In response to Bruno Welsch’s transfer from the US to Germany, Dr. Jochen Weyrauch, Member of the Board of Management of Dürr AG and CEO of Dürr Systems AG said: "Bruno Welsch has contributed a great deal to the positive development of Dürr Systems, Inc. in the last ten years he was in this position. Bruno Welsch started his career with Dürr in 1996 in electrical hardware design and software development and worked his way up holding different management positions in Korea, Malaysia and Mexico before he took the lead in North America.

The Board of Management of Dürr AG would like to thank Bruno Welsch for his highly successful work over many years in North America and beyond and wishes Mike Boss good luck in this new position at Dürr.
