Ceramtec Signs Contract


Laurens, SC, September 30, 2008 - 18:00 (CET) -CeramTec North America Corporation, a major supplier of Advanced Technical Ceramics and leader in Hermetic products, announced the signing of a strategic contract with a US based Company to supply key technical ceramics for manufacturing petrochemical derivatives.

Mr. Seifi Ghasemi, Chairman and CEO of Rockwood Holdings, Inc., Mr. Robert Zatta, CFO of Rockwood, and Dr. Ulf-D Zimmermann, Chairman of CeramTec AG, joined CeramTec's President, Michael Mueller, in making this announcement during a Safety Celebration at the Laurens, SC, facility. The Laurens facility celebrated two years without any lost-time accidents.

The multimillion dollar manufacturing agreement covers a period of ten years with the possibility of future extensions. The initial phase, known as the 3-C project, begins immediately and targets a manufacturing start-up slated for mid 2009.

The added sales will solidify an already expanding ceramic business for the Laurens facility. Additional resources will be added in the coming months to fulfill the new requirements," commented Michael Mueller, President of CTNA.
