Carbide Probes, Inc. has Become the World's First ISO 9000:2001 Replacement Contact Manufacturer

Carbide Probes, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio has been awarded ISO900:2001 certification. This makes them the only full line replacement contact point / styli manufacturer in the world to achieve this prestigious certification.

Carbide Probes, Inc. manufactures contact points for all popular indicators and CMM's. They have recently added replacement contracers and surface defect scribers to their inventory. "We have received a tremendous response to our replacement Mitutoyo contracers," says Rick Hudgell, Director of Marketing / Operations. "Due to a lack of supply, our customers needed parts quickly. Our Lean operation processes enabled us to set up quickly and address their needs." Our ISO certification process was progressing during this and proved to be a tremendous asset by enabling us to maintain our supply chain and process flows without any major issues."

Carbide Probes, Inc. was established in 1952 by Earl Jacobs. His son-in-law, Dan Shellabarger, would take over the helm in 1977 and established the company as the world's leading producer of replacement contact points. Dan will be retiring in July 2008 and his son, Greg Shellabarger, will take over as the company President. Carbide Probes, Inc. supplies replacement contact points to customers all over the world. In addition to offering a complete line of in-stock styli, they manufacture custom styli based on customer's specifications.
