Cables To Go Celebrates 25 Years in Business

When Cables To Go(TM) was founded in 1984, the company was manufacturing printer cables and other computer connectivity cables for products that were the cutting-edge technology of the time. That was long before the advent of anything like HDTV, DVDs or fiber optics and was even a few years before the introduction of VGA ports and cables. Now as the company celebrates 25 years in business, the company has successfully evolved with technological advancements in computer, A/V and data connectivity.

The original founders - Mike Shane, Geoff Hyman and Jeff Fourman -started the company in the back room of a shopping mall computer store when they began manufacturing cables. Today the company has grown from three guys with a vision of quickly delivering custom-made cables at a good price to a multi-million dollar company with more than 900 employees in its facilities in the United States, Asia and the United Kingdom. Cables To Go has demonstrated steady growth and success by focusing on combining innovative products with an unwavering commitment to customer service.

"Over the course of 25 years, we have experienced many changes in the industry, the coming and going of different technologies and all the ups and downs of the economy," said Mike Shane, CEO and chairman of Lastar, parent company of Cables To Go. "The one thing that has remained constant over the years, and is core to our success, has been our commitment to listening to our customers and partners in order to meet their needs and help them be successful."

Recent years have seen some of the most significant developments in the company's history, most notably the success of the RapidRun modular cabling system, which has won numerous awards for innovation, and the introduction of a number of award-winning wireless solutions for transmitting USB and VGA signals.

"Cables To Go is about connectivity and providing the best solutions for transmitting a signal from point A to point B," said Bill Diedrich, Lastar president. "Whether it's wired or wireless, data or A/V, standard or hi-def, or whatever the next hot technology may be, we provide quality, affordable solutions for maintaining a reliable connection."

Cables To Go products are available through key distributors such as Synnex, Tech Data and Ingram Micro, as well as its network of resellers and dealers.
