Brooks Automation Completes Sale of Its Software Division to Applied Materials


CHELMSFORD, Mass., March 30: Brooks Automation ("Brooks") today announced that Brooks completed the sale of its software division, Brooks Software, to Applied Materials, Inc ("Applied"), for $125 million in cash consideration, subject to post-closing adjustments, and the assumption of certain liabilities related to Brooks Software. The sale was consummated on March 30, 2007 pursuant to the terms of an Asset Purchase Agreement dated as of November 3, 2006 by and between Brooks and Applied.
