BORIDE Goes ;Green' Creating Beverage Coasters Out of Reclaim
(Traverse City, MI, 4/2021) – BORIDE Engineered Abrasives, a manufacturer of high-quality abrasive grinding and polishing products, is taking a fun and unique approach to reducing their environmental footprint by producing functional and attractive beverage coasters using residual material that would otherwise be placed in Michigan landfills. BORIDE now recycles approximately 50,000lbs of fine abrasive reclaim each year through their new organization, Traverse Custom Coasters.
Traverse Custom Coasters offers both tabletop and car sized coasters that are extremely absorbent and fully customizable utilizing full color laser printing technology. Customers can choose from a wide variety of standard designs or provide artwork to create a unique, one-of-a-kind coaster for their business or promotional needs.
“We’ve created an amazing product which saves nearly all of our abrasive reclaim from landfills,” says BORIDE’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, John Sak. “As part of our mission, we also donate a portion of our proceeds to the Conservation Resource Alliance whose objective is to help manage and protect Michigan’s natural river resources.”
