All Seven Finalists Benefit from Improved Fuel Economy, Reduced Emissions and Better Performance Provided by BorgWarner Technology

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 24 -- Leading global powertrain supplier BorgWarner powers the European Car of the Year 2009 - the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia - as well as all seven finalists in the international competition. From its industry-leading turbo and dual clutch technology to precision timing system and diesel cold start expertise, BorgWarner provides advanced technologies to improve fuel economy, reduce emissions and increase performance for these notable vehicles.

For the winning Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, BorgWarner supplies a regulated two stage (R2S ®) turbocharger and Instant Start System glow plugs and control units for the 2.0-liter diesel model as well as turbochargers for the 1.6- liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engine models.
