Blacoh Industries Acquires Transient Pressure Monitoring Technology
Blacoh Surge Control, part of the global Blacoh Industries group, recently announced it has acquired rights to the Transient Pressure Monitoring system developed by Arizona-based Pipetech International.
Pipetech International developed the system to address the need for pipeline operators to detect and record transient pressure events occurring in water, wastewater and petroleum pipelines. Introduced in 2005, the system is unique in that it employs a patented system of dynamic pressure transducers and digital technology to monitor pipelines for indefinite periods of time. When a transient such as a pressure surge, pressure spike or water hammer event is detected, the system activates a high speed data recorder to record the event 100x/second. With this Blacoh SurgeWave transient monitoring system installed designers, engineers, manufacturers and operators can assess pipeline performance during transient events to include at least pressure, flow, level and pump speed.
The system is a strategic addition to Blacoh Surge Control, which provides custom analysis and engineered solutions for surge control using surge vessels and control valves.
