Bacou-Dalloz to acquire Epicon - Brazil


Paris, December 4, 2006: Bacou-Dalloz announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Epicon, a Brazilian company which manufactures and sells disposable masks.

Epicon posted 2005 sales of approximately $4 million. The company employs about 80 people in Sao Paulo state.

This operation is one step in the Group's strategy of a larger expansion into Latin America. Thus, Bacou-Dalloz is planning to increase its manufacturing presence in order to improve its competitiveness and provide locally relevant products in the Latin-America market.

Henri-Dominique Petit, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bacou-Dalloz said: "This deal establishes the Group as a local player with prime access to Mercosur, the world's fourth largest trade bloc, comprising Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Epicon will be the beachhead for the Group in our emerging market strategy for Latin America."

Bacou-Dalloz, world leader in the design, manufacturing and sales of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), operates across all 5 continents with approximately 6,000 people. The Group specializes in providing head-to-toe protection specifically designed for use in all sectors where men and women are at risk (manufacturing, construction, telecommunications, homeland security, medical, public services, etc.) and offers a complete range of head protection equipment (eye/face, hearing and respiratory) and body protection equipment (fall protection, gloves, clothing and footwear).

Bacou-Dalloz is listed on the Eurolist market of the Euronext stock exchange in Paris, within the SBF 120 index, and is eligible for the SRD (Monthly Settlement Service).
