Wireless Test Equipment Provider Expands Leadership into the WiMAX Industry
ACTON, MA - January 7, 2008 - Azimuth Systems Inc., a leading provider of wireless engineering test equipment, today announced several major milestones that mark the company's fourth consecutive year of accelerated growth. In 2007 alone, the company increased its customer base by 26% with substantial expansion in international business and introduced its first WiMAX product, the ACE(TM) 400WB Mobile WiMAX Channel Emulator. The ACE 400WB has been widely adopted in the WiMAX industry and is now included in the WiMAX Forum® State of the Art Test Equipment document.
Azimuth's customer list currently includes 133 of the world's foremost wireless semiconductor, system vendor, and service provider companies at over 200 sites worldwide - including Atheros, Broadcom, Cisco, Marvell, Motorola and T-Mobile. Notable additions to Azimuth's impressive customer base in 2007 include AT4 wireless, Ralink, Samsung, Symbian and XRONet.

In addition to releasing the ACE 400WB Mobile WiMAX Channel Emulator, the only solution currently on the market purpose-built for MIMO communication and mobility/handover testing, Azimuth introduced several other industry firsts in 2007. New products include the FMC Performance Test suite, which features more than 20 unique and repeatable performance tests for converged Wi-Fi/Cellular handsets over a broad range of real-world environment dynamics; the ADEPT-n MIMO Test Platform, which enables repeatable performance, interoperability and functional testing of 802.11n devices; and the AzCert(TM) Wi-Fi 802.11n Certification Test Suite, a fully automated implementation of the Wi-Fi Alliance® 802.11n draft 2.0 certification test plan that allows pre-certification testing in hours, rather than days or weeks.
Azimuth also received industry-wide acclaim as the winner of several awards recognizing the company's unique wireless testing approach. In addition to being named to the 2007 "Pulver 100" and receiving bronze recognition in the Integrated Program category of the 2007 Wi-Fi Alliance® WIFFIES award, Azimuth was honored with the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation of the Year Award in the field of Wi-Fi Test & Measurement for its innovative development of the ACE 400NB MIMO Channel Emulator for testing Wi-Fi products.
