AT&T Adds More Wireless Coverage for Monticello, Kentucky
LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 18: AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced today that AT&T's wireless unit (formerly Cingular) -- the nation's largest wireless carrier -- has expanded its Kentucky wireless service with a new cell site that enhances coverage in Monticello, Ky. The new cell site is located at 1103 Harmon's Rd. near Lake Cumberland and Camp Earl Wallace Rd.
"It is important for our Kentucky customers to stay connected whether they're on the road, at work or traveling, said Bill Plantz, executive director of Network Engineering for the company's Tennessee/Kentucky market. The new cell site will complement the existing cellular coverage already provided by three other cell sites in the area -- Steubenville, Mill Springs and Jamestown.
AT&T has added 12 new cell sites in the Kentucky/Tennessee market since January and added more than 48 cell sites in Kentucky last year. The company also completed the integration of its cell sites with those of the former Cingular to establish a single enhanced network. As a result, AT&T's ALLOVER(TM) Network* -- the nation's largest digital voice and data network -- is now bigger and better across the commonwealth.

Over the past two years, AT&T has invested more than $13.5 billion nationally in an aggressive program to upgrade and expand wireless service, which now gives customers access to approximately 45,000 cell sites -- more than any other wireless carrier in the country.
