Ducker Worldwide Study Details Customer Needs Within Passenger Automobile, Light Trucks, Heavy Trucks and Busses

Bethesda, MD – The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC), in partnership with Ducker Worldwide, has published its “Grow the Vertical-Voice of the Customer Research.”  The report is part of ASC’s Growth Objective – one of the five key pillars of the ASC Long Range Plan.

The Growth initiative is intended to provide ASC members key information, trends and market information that will drive adhesive and sealant growth opportunities in key sub-segments within Transportation. The data collected will help ASC members better understand significant market drivers, key applications from end users perceptions, challenges and estimated utilization for fastening and sealing.

“The ASC Board of Directors is engaged in a dialogue on how to add value to membership by supporting Growth Strategies managed by the Council,” reports Matthew E. Croson, President of ASC.  “We are in the initial phase of the growth objective programming, ‘concepting’ ideas and determining the role ASC can play in warming the market for the increased use of adhesives and sealants within growth oriented segments, including the transportation space.”

The Board will now consider other tactics that support downstream education and outreach efforts to the end user community, leveraging the data found within the report.

“ASC will be making available the Growth Study conducted by Ducker and as a member value and will be free to ASC Members. Coverage in this study has information on the light duty car and truck markets, specialty trucks, on highway trucks and bus sub segments,”notes Steve Duren, ASC’s Senior Director of Membership Services.  “Auto manufacturers, tier 1 suppliers and other important pieces of the downstream supply chain were interviewed within the report, providing a clear glimpse on strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for the adhesives and sealants industry.”
