Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions Expands Midmarket Offerings with IBM Internet Security Systems, Adds Health Care Expertise

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Dec. 3 - The Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS) business of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW), today announced it has expanded its portfolio of midmarket offerings through an agreement to distribute IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS) solutions and the addition of in-house expertise to help resellers meet the information technology needs of medium-sized health care companies.

IBM ISS offers a suite of products that helps protect against Internet threats across networks, desktops and servers. Based on the proactive security intelligence of its X-Force research and development team, IBM ISS shields networks from online attacks to protect valuable business assets. IBM ISS previously distributed its products through a sales model of distributors, direct to resellers and direct sales.

"Arrow ECS has received tremendous interest from partners in our midmarket program," said Mark Taylor, vice president of Arrow ECS' midmarket program. "Clearly, the channel is seeking a leader in addressing the needs of medium-sized businesses, and Arrow ECS is pleased to be expanding our program to assist our partners and suppliers in this growing market."

Arrow ECS announced on Nov. 12 that it was expanding its portfolio of offerings for reseller partners to include solutions and services to address the growing information technology needs of medium-sized businesses. Arrow ECS offers solutions to enable its partners to address the security, storage and computing needs of medium-sized companies. According to Arrow ECS' research, these are the top-three information technology needs for the midmarket.

Now with in-house health care expertise, Arrow ECS' midmarket offerings will also focus on creating additional opportunities for partners seeking to sell to medium-sized health care organizations. Arrow ECS will offer enablement and training services to help resellers provide better service to the health care industry.

"I am very excited to learn about Arrow ECS' new midmarket solutions strategy. This validates my decision to work with Arrow as a distributor for all of my clients' technology needs," said Don Hanson, president of Consolidated Computing, Inc. "The Arrow midmarket initiative will expand and strengthen my solution offerings to my clients, and it will enable my company to spend more time on client-related activities. From a reseller perspective, it is refreshing to see a leading distributor make such a bold step to help its resellers reach a higher level of success."
