AOL Turns to Xerox for Scanning and Imaging of Documents

``Xerox Global Services' Expertise in This Area Was a Natural Fit''

ROCHESTER, N.Y.-- Sept. 1, 2006--Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) has signed a five-year contract with AOL LLC to provide the online media company with on-site document scanning and imaging services. Xerox will also provide AOL with consulting services to improve business processes for these types of operations.

Under the agreement, Xerox Global Services will help AOL streamline various corporate services, including sorting incoming hardcopy mail and scanning various accounts payable-related documents, such as vendor invoices, contract documents, and travel and expense documents. Xerox will provide AOL in-depth reports of the various functions to improve tracking and document management, which will result in greater efficiencies and lower costs. In addition, Xerox is helping AOL integrate the digitized documents into the company's existing enterprise resource planning system.

"We needed more than scanning - we needed easy access and a more efficient way to manage a host of records, including accounts payable records," said Stephen Hosley, assistant controller and senior vice president, AOL Shared Services operation. "Given our imaging requirements in the Shared Services operation, Xerox Global Services' expertise in this area was a natural fit."

Xerox consulting services will help AOL create an imaging center to digitize and manage AOL's documents.

"AOL is a pioneer of the digital age, so its desire to implement electronic document solutions came as no surprise," said Pat Elizondo, senior vice president, Industry Services and Major Account Operations, Xerox Global Services. "This on-site solution will help AOL achieve productivity improvements while controlling costs over the five-year agreement."

Xerox Global Services provides document management solutions to leading companies around the world. With revenue in excess of $3 billion and over 15,000 service professionals who deliver consulting and outsourcing services, Xerox Global Services optimizes assets in the office, streamlines document-driven business processes, and improves efficiency in high-volume print production centers.
