Registration For Action And Reaction Chemical Summit Is Open Through July 27
Industry, government, scientific and technical reps to launch collaborative initiative

Stakeholders from industry, government, the scientific and technical communities, and other affected groups are invited to register for Action and Reaction: Developing a sustainable approach to emerging chemical issues, a conference to address the economic and regulatory impact of chemical controls and regulations such as REACH, RoHS, WEEE and GHS on U.S. industry. Hosted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the event will be held August 9-10 in Baltimore, MD. Registration closes July 27, 2007.
The conference will launch a collaborative initiative aimed at balancing the social and economic impacts of domestic and foreign chemical controls and regulatory programs. Affected areas include chemical security, waste management, energy efficiencies, and other environmental and production activities that help to promote and enhance safety, health and the quality of life.
Keynotes and presentations from high-level government and industry experts will kick off the two-day event with a dynamic look at green chemistry, chemical controls and the economic impact of chemical regulations on producers and users in the global marketplace. Two sets of breakout sessions will engage attendees in active discussions on cross-cutting chemical issues such as life cycle and risk assessment, as well as the use of environmental impact tools during product design and development. Participants will also examine the varied and inconsistent implementation of chemical codes, standards and regulations across states and nations and the barriers this poses to global supply chains.
