Andes Coil Processors Adds Additional Slitting Capability and Space

GARY, Indiana - (January 15, 2018) - Andes Coil Processors LLC announced that its Gary toll processing facility has increased its slitting capability with the installation of a third slitter. The 60-inch slitter is a fully refurbished Loopco slitter.

With the addition of the 60-inch slitter to the already existing 72- and 60-inch lines, Andes Coil Midwest expands the facility’s ability to process material on three slitters running five shifts with capabilities between .011- and .1875-inch thickness; up to 72-inch wide master coils; and as narrow as .625-inches.

Andes Coil Processors also announces the addition of 19,000 square feet of storage and production space with a 25-ton overhead crane in its Gary production facility, providing storage capacity for an additional 12,000 tons of master coil.

This is another substantial move by Andes, as the company recently increased its slitting capability in North Texas at its Dallas facility in 2016. As a toll processor, Andes does not own steel but rather provides processing and logistical services to its customers.
