AMCA to Present Free, PDH-Eligible Webinar on Industrial Fans April 7

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., March 17, 2020—On April 7 at 1 p.m. ET, Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc. will present “Specifying Fans for Industrial Environments,” the latest in its AMCA insiteTM series of free, professional-development-hour- (PDH-) eligible webinars.

During the hour-long event:

  • Dan Hormann, PE, of the AMCA Fan Committee will discuss how industrial fans differ from commercial fans, including in terms of welding, materials, bearing and motor base, arrangements, inertia bases, and paint systems.
  • Marcel Kamutzki, P.Eng., of the AMCA Fan Committee will discuss aerodynamics, including flow, pressure, power, revolutions per minute, and arrangement; air conditions for density; and how pressure is defined.
  • Aaron Saldanha of the AMCA Fan Committee will discuss application, including abrasive, corrosive, high-temperature, and high-pressure-low-flow environments; first cost vs. operation costs; and guidance offered in AMCA Publication 801, Industrial Process/Power Generation Fans: Specification Guidelines.
