AMCA Makes Revisions to air control device rating manual.

AMCA International Revises AMCA Publication 511, Product Rating Manual for Air Control Devices



ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc. announces the revision of AMCA Publication 511, Product Rating Manual for Air Control Devices.



The new designation for 511 is AMCA Publication 511-10 (Rev. 2016). The revised AMCA Publication 511 was adopted by AMCA membership March 24, 2016. It dictates proper presentation of data and other required technical procedures for certification of air control devices within AMCA's 500-D and 500-L test standards under the AMCA Certified Ratings Program.



The 2016 revision includes changes to the backdraft damper leakage section will allow manufacturers to show compliance with the new 2015 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1 - 2013 leakage requirements for non-motorized dampers. The proposal increases the number of samples required to be leakage tested from one to three.
