AMCA STANDARD 260-07, "Laboratory Methods of Testing Induced Flow Fans For Rating" and New Certified Ratings Program
Arlington Heights, IL, USA---The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA International) announced that the AMCA Board of Directors approved a new method of test standard for induced flow fans and a new Certified Ratings Program for the unique performance requirements of these types of fans. Induced flow fans are generally used in laboratory or other hazardous exhaust applications. The new test method and certified ratings program provides assurances of the induced flow performance that has been requested by consultants and experts in this field of expertise.
The Certified Rating Program is described in a revision to AMCA 211-05 (Rev. Feb 2007), Certified Ratings Program - Product Rating Manual for Fan Air Performance. The standard is designated AMCA 260-07, Laboratory method of Testing Induced Flow Fans for Rating. The standard and Certified Ratings Program became effective March 1, 2007.
AMCA International is accredited by ANSI as a standards developer using the "canvass" method. The canvass method provides and promotes a process that verifies the principles of openness have been followed in the approval procedure. It also ensures that a consensus of those individuals who are directly and materially affected by the standard(s) has been achieved.
