Alfresco Becomes Founding Member of Red Hat Exchange

SAN DIEGO, May 10: Alfresco Software, Inc., the first and leading provider of an open source enterprise content management solution, today announced it has become one of the founding members of Red Hat Exchange. Alfresco has been certified and validated with other open source vendors including MySQL, JBoss and Sugar CRM and will be made available through Red Hat Exchange.

Red Hat Exchange (RHX) is a single source for research, purchase, online fulfillment and support of open source and other commercial software business application stacks. Through RHX, customers will be able to acquire pre- integrated open source software solutions incorporating infrastructure software from Red Hat and business application software from Red Hat partners.

Alfresco has seen major adoption of its open source Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system in the Global 2000 with customers ranging from Electronic Arts to Boise Cascade, NASA and some of the largest financial services companies in the world. RHX offers an excellent channel and reach to the medium and small business market to accelerate the wider adoption of Alfresco.

"Enterprises have been buying open source in ever-increasing amounts and we see RHX as a natural marketplace to streamline the process of finding and implementing open source software," said John Powell, CEO and co-founder, Alfresco Software, Inc. "Red Hat is the de-facto brand in Linux and the availability of a Red Hat-tested and supported offering will accelerate the adoption of Alfresco and open source as a whole."

"The open source community operates with a different marketing and distribution model than proprietary software," said Donald Fischer, vice president of Online Services at Red Hat. "It makes sense for members of the open source community to come together to facilitate an exchange suited to the effective delivery and support of its solutions for its users. Alfresco's active participation in our new offering will contribute significantly to the value RHX delivers to the open source community."
