AEI Expands Flexible Automation Operations for Optoelectronics to Asia and Europe
Leverages Alliance with Palomar Technologies
Wilmington, MA -- July 13, 2006 Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi), a leading supplier of high precision assembly automation systems, announces a sales and service alliance with Palomar Technologies of Carlsbad, California to jointly promote AEi's optoelectronics manufacturing automation systems for the Asian and European markets. AEi is not disclosing further terms of the alliance.
The alliance supports AEI's rapid growth with regional sales and local service capabilities close to its customers in the United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
According to AEi's Chief Operating Officer Justin Roe, "Our new customers in Asia and Europe will be able to single source a full array of automation equipment - die bonders, wire bonders, automated alignment systems with laser welding, automated alignment systems with epoxy bonding or solder attach, and fiber drawing towers."
"This alliance with Palomar Technologies supports our European and Asian growth with enhanced local sales and service capabilities. The Palomar and AEi product lines are highly complementary and the alliance is good for both companies," concluded Roe.
AEi and Palomar have shared technology stemming back to 2000 when both AEi and Palomar's optoelectronics divisions were under Axsys Technologies (Nasdaq: AXYS) umberlla. AEi automation systems often use Palomar's FAST6 (TM) motion stage for high precision motion applications, including active optoelectronic alignment, assembly and test.
