Advantech eAutomation Group Donates Key Products to University of Dayton to Cultivate Future Talent

(Cincinnati, Ohio - 12/28/2006) - The eAutomation Group of Advantech has donated three lab setups of ADAM Industrial Ethernet hardware with ADAMView software to the University of Dayton with the aim of cultivating future talent. The products to be used are Advantech's ADAM-6017 (8-channel analog input and 2 digital output module), ADAM-6052 (16-channel source type digital I/O module), ADAM-6520 (5-port industrial 10/100Mbps Ethernet Switch), ADAM-6060 (6-channel relay output and 6 digital input module) and ADAMView data acquisition software.

The University of Dayton will use this product in three different classes.
oProgrammable Logic Controllers (Industrial Ethernet equipment could be considered replacement for the programmable logic controller).
oControls for Industrial Automation (Industrial Ethernet equipment will become the actuator for certain pieces of equipment such as pneumatic solenoid values. The feedback from the proximity switches will also be acquired with the system).
oAutomated Manufacturing and SIM (The industrial equipment will automate part of a factory simulation in the lab).

The University is looking into building a new automation laboratory showcasing Advantech's equipment and showing students how it is normally used in factory automation.

This is a win-win for Advantech and the University of Dayton. The University gains modern equipment to equip their laboratories and in return, the students are trained on Advantech's equipment.
