Aculight Corporation Named One of Washington State's Fastest Growing Technology Companies in Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Program

Bothell, Wash., October 5, 2005 - Aculight Corporation, a leading developer of innovative laser technologies, has been named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Washington State, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services organizations. Rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth during a five year span from 2000-2004.

Aculight's President and CEO Don Rich credits setting challenging goals and being accountable for achieving them with the company's 87 percent revenue growth from 2000-2004. "Aculight's growth and success really come down to a few key elements," said Rich. "We have a strong focus on what we need to do well to grow our company, and we're aggressive in setting goals. We are also very public with what we intend to accomplish, and hold ourselves accountable both internally and with our customers. Lastly, we have a talented, motivated team with the ability to execute."

Aculight's increase in revenues of 87 percent from 2000 to 2004 resulted in a 34 ranking in the Technology Fast 50 for Washington State. The average increase in revenues among companies who made the Technology Fast 50 for this region was 70 percent. This marks the fourth time that Aculight has made the prestigious list-previous years were 2000, 2003 and 2004.

"Sustaining high revenue growth through five years is an exceptional accomplishment. We commend Aculight for making the commitment to technology and delivering on the promise of market longevity," said Larry Hile, a partner in Deloitte's Seattle office. "We are proud to honor Aculight as a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 winner."

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2000 and $1,000,000 in 2004, be headquartered in Washington, and be a "technology company," defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify.

Winners of the 15 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.
