ACG and Wireless Dynamics Team up to Deploy NFC/RFID SD Cards

ACG to distribute Wireless Dynamics' SDiD* products worldwide to the mobile RFID and NFC markets

Walluf, November 2, 2006 - ACG Identification Technologies, a leading component and technology supplier in the smart card and RFID markets, has signed a partner agreement with Wireless Dynamics Inc. (WDI), a leading provider of NFC and RFID SD (Secure Digital) products. NFC (Near Field Communication) is a new wireless short-range technology which enables mobile devices to be used for secure contactless payments, ticketing and other contactless transactions. WDI's innovative SDiD* product line is designed to provide NFC and RFID plug-and-play functions for mobile devices. ACG will offer the SDiD* Cards to the mobile RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and NFC markets. With the cooperation ACG closes the circle between cards, readers and PDAs and enables applications beyond pure RFID.

With the standard SDIO (Secure Digital I/O) interface the SDiD* Card can be inserted into most mobile devices like PDA or cellular based PDA phones with SD slots. With the new technology, consumers may use their mobile device as bus ticket, train ticket, event ticket or as debit or credit card for fast and secure transactions. They can even transfer stored tickets to other NFC enabled devices, utilizing the NFC peer-to-peer communication technology. Professionals can use SDiD* enabled devices as portable readers and writers for NFC and RFID applications.

WDI's SDiD* products support a broad range of High Frequency (HF) protocols and operating systems for mobile devices. This ensures interoperability between the secure RFID technology and the specific applications in different vertical markets such as public transport, financial transactions or access and security.

"We are excited about partnering with a world leading RFID company with strong presence in the global markets. ACG has years of experience in marketing RFID products and providing customer support," said Ambrose Tam, Chief Executive Officer of Wireless Dynamics Inc. "The joint forces of our two companies will offer flexible, quick and cost-effective NFC / RFID solutions for our customers as they will expand their current applications or deploy new applications of these technologies."

"NFC is one of the fastest growing markets in the secure RFID environment. ACG has already added NFC support to its HF mifare Easy and HF Multi ISO RFID reader families to meet this growing demand," comments Stefan Trautner, Product Manager RFID readers at ACG. "With the addition of WDI's complementary product line, we are now in a position to offer our customers fixed and mobile RFID and NFC reader products for any application.."
