Progress Report Reveals Guidance Compliance by Media Type

The American Association of Advertising Agencies' Digital Video Innovation Committee today released a new progress report which rates various media platforms and their respective compliance to guidelines issued by the committee last year for advertising within an on-demand video environment.

Last year, the Digital Video Innovation Committee issued a revised set of desired guidelines designed to help advertisers and their agencies judge the effectiveness of ad messaging in on-demand video environments.

Since then, the Committee has met with industry trade groups, video program distributors, cable/satellite/telecom operators, technology enablers and research intermediaries to discuss the revised guidelines and encourage their adoption. Subsequently, the Committee has developed a progress report on each platform's progress in compliance with the guidelines. To agencies and marketers planning to use digital video platforms, the review will help set data expectations. For those involved in the selling of messaging units on digital video platforms, the review will provide insight about how their platform complies with the guidelines versus other platforms.
