May 20, 2014 EPPINGER Shaping Attachment enables single-step machining of difficult-to-cut features, including grooves, Torx screw heads, splines, and gear teeth. Attachment drives cutter into workpiece in Z-axis at cutting speeds up to 1,000 strokes/min. At end of each stroke, integrated lift-off mechanism returns cutter to starting position without drag. With working stroke of 1.3 in. and max feed of 0.006 in. per stroke, attachment can produce max groove widths of 0.31–0.34 in.

Nov 11, 2013 Available for workpieces up to 700 mm in diameter, Power Skiving Systems are suited for production of internal gears, and for all gears with interfering contours and features. Machines utilize extremely rigid guideways, oversized spindles, and rigid bearings. Profile modifications as well as tooth tip chamfer can be built into cutter while lead modifications are realized by additional movements of axes. With software, users can simulate cutting process and plan most effective process strategy.

Sep 17, 2013 Capable of cutting diverse selection of gears, including helical and cluster gears, ST40A applies NC programming technology to relieving motion that prevents interference between cutter and workpiece. Helical guide is not required for each workpiece, and all 7 axes are fully NC-programmable. This accommodates precision cutting applications such as crowning and tapering. Other features include operating speed from 30–600 strokes/min and tapering capabilities up to 0.3° without tilt table.

Gear hobbing machine, GE25A, is equipped with gear-tooth chamfering device and achieves cycle time of 40 sec. It can machine workpieces with up to 250 mm ODs at speeds of 250 m/min. Both machines come with software for setting conditions and graphic display of operating status.

Feb 04, 2002 Electronic GP 300 ES can change over from spur to helical gears, or from one helix angle to another without having to first change guide to accommodate new gear. This eliminates timely changeovers for mechanical and hydrostatic helical guide systems. It uses backlash-free direct drive under CNC control, so any helix angle within stroke rates and length can be created by changing CNC programs.
