HORSHAM, PA - AMETEK Drexelbrook-the leader in level measurement technology-offers an integrated wireless transmitter / receiver set that can be part of an integrated solution for harsh environments, hazardous Class 1 Division 2 areas or other locations where conduit or cable would be costly or impossible to install.
The AMETEK Drexelbrook Wireless Interface Solution is a unique addition to the company's full-line of level measurement products. It eliminates costly cable and conduit runs by utilizing 902-928 MHz ISM band spread spectrum frequency hopping technology. That technology guarantees a license-free, interference-free link between remote devices and a control room. Typical installations include monitoring control of pressure, level, temperature and flow as well as switching and alarm functions.
Modules are available as a transmitter / receiver pair and come factory programmed, calibrated and tested as a set. Further switch configuration and programming are not required. Each set is given a unique address at the factory enabling multiple radio systems to operate independently in the same area without interference.
The transmitter / receiver set is tube mounted in a weatherproof NEMA 4x housing that is suitable for both new and existing installations. The transmitters are available in both AC and DC power versions. The receiver in DC only is suitable for DIN-Rail mounting.
Transmitters measure 279 mm (11") x 57mm (2.3") including Omni antenna and mount directly to X NPT conduit. The space-efficient DIN-rail mounted receiver takes up only 102 mm (length) x 114.5mm (height) x 175mm (width) or 4"x 4.5" x 0.7" in the control cabinet.
Installation is quick and easy. The process signals are simply wired to the color-coded wires of the transmitter and output via wires connected to the receiver. No wiring is required in between. Typical outdoor range is one to two miles with no line of sight, four to five miles with line of sight, and upwards of 20 miles with professional antenna propagation study and installation.
