Original Press Release:

8042-01 Submersible IEPE Accelerometer

Measurement Specialties, Inc. (NASDAQ: MEAS) is now in full production of its Model 8042-01 Submersible IEPE Accelerometer certified for >100 meter depth. This sensor is available in ±10g, ±80g and ±500g dynamic ranges with an operating temperature range of -20 ºC through +80 ºC, non-linearity of ±1% and shock protection to 5000 g’s.

The Model 8042-01 features a welded titanium housing with an integral cable that is specifically designed for submersible applications and employs a unique water block feature that self-seals in the event of accidental cuts to the cable. The accelerometer includes internal shielding and a wide usable bandwidth from 1 Hz to 16kHz. The versatility of the Model 8042-01 makes it well suited for a wide range of applications including, but not limited to, pump control, rotating machinery monitoring, underwater vibration monitoring, gearbox monitoring and shipboard installations.

Tefzel or polyurethane cables are standard options, as are magnetic or adhesive mounting adapters and mounting studs, and each unit is packaged with an NIST traceable calibration certificate. Post sale factory calibration is supported by MEAS’ California Vibration Design Center and its two manufacturing facilities in China and France. These devices are EAR99 export compliant and warranted for a period of one year from date of shipment to original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship.

Measurement Specialties, Inc. designs and manufactures sensors and sensor-based systems. The company produces a wide variety of sensors and transducers to measure precise ranges of physical characteristics such as pressure, force, vibration, torque, position, temperature, humidity, fluid properties, mass air flow and photo optics.
