Original Press Release:

Full Screen User Interface Maximises DEK 248 Performance

DEK 248 semi-automatic printers now benefit from a new PC-based user interface, allowing operators to view all machine parameters at a glance for faster, accurate machine control. Combined with the new keyboard featuring integrated trackball, the new user interface also makes editing parameters, moving, storing and backing-up product files, and accessing context-sensitive help easier than ever.

Operators in diverse territories will also appreciate integrated support for a wide selection of languages, including Simplified Chinese, Korean and Japanese.

The new user interface also supports the optional DEK 248 vision capabilities. Vision setup features are fully integrated, and real-time image data is displayed live on-screen. Vision information of the currently running product is saved automatically with the product file, delivering a fast and fail-safe user experience.

The new user interface replaces the 4-line LCD panel of earlier models, and also adopts the look and feel of the DEK Instinctiv user interface available for DEK's high-end fully automatic platforms. This enhances commonality between all machines in the DEK range to make life easier for assemblers operating a mix of semi-automatic and fully-automatic machines, or migrating to higher performance equipment. Operators can reach maximum productivity quickly with minimal adjustment or retraining.

A 3.5-inch floppy disk drive is also included as part of the new hardware, facilitating exchange of product files and information between the semi-automatic machine and desktop PCs, and the enterprise network.
