Coriant Announces First Live Enterprise End-User SDN Service Trial and Introduction of Coriant Transcend(TM) SDN Solution Portfolio
Enables True SDN Capabilities for Multi-Layer, Multi-Vendor, Multi-Domain Programmability
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Coriant, a global supplier of SDN-enabled end-to-end transport solutions, today announced the first true Software Defined Networking (SDN) solution portfolio. The Coriant Transcend(TM) SDN Solution provides an advanced programming environment and open interfaces that empower on-demand, application-centric service agility and direct monetization of network assets (NaaS), while retaining optimal end-user performance in an increasingly unpredictable traffic environment. Concurrently, Coriant is announcing its SDN solution deployment in a live service trial of enterprise end-users with a Tier 1 service provider in Asia.
The Coriant Transcend(TM) SDN Solution couples the benefits of SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies with the differentiated value from a proven product portfolio. The solution leverages the company's expertise in areas such as packet optical transport, mobile backhaul and cloud networking.
The Coriant Transcend(TM) SDN Solution is comprised of two major components:
--Â An SDN software suite that includes the Coriant Transcend(TM) Orchestrator based on the OpenDaylight Project, the Coriant Transcend(TM) Transport Controller, the Coriant Transcend(TM) Application Suite, and integration of Open Virtual Switch (OVS) functionality for Network Function Virtualization (NFV).

The Coriant Transcend(TM) SDN Solution delivers innovative services and functionality for residential and enterprise end-users, including application-based forwarding, network virtualization and defragmentation, and zero-touch service provisioning. These use cases improve the profitability for the service provider by enabling new revenue sources and reducing operational and capital expense, and at the same time, provide a more value-based service to their customers.
