HONEYWELL ADDS RELAYS TO ELECTROMECHANICAL PORTFOLIO

FREEPORT, Illinois, March 25, 2002 - The Control Products Business of Honeywell [NYSE:HON] has introduced the SZR Series general-purpose power relays. The SZR-LY and SZR-MY relays are designed for a wide range of applications that require stability and reliability, including power and logic control for factory machines and control panels. The SZR Series features a small package design, vibration and shock resistance, and high dielectric strength.

The SZR-MY relays are available in two configurations: DPDT (Double Pole, Double Throw) with a five amp load and 4PDT (Four Pole, Double Throw) with a three amp load. The SZR-LY relays come in the same configurations, but break ten amp loads.

In addition to the standard relay, three options are available for both the SZR-LY and SZR-MY relays. An LED indicator that shows when the coil is energized can be added for easy maintenance. An internal surge protection diode is available to protect from back EMF (electromotive force). There is also an option that has both the LED indicator and the diode protection.

The SZR Series Relays were first developed at Honeywell Korea fifteen years ago. Honeywell is now releasing them in North America, South America, and Europe.
