Modular Automation for Quick Machine Changeover
Harrisburg, PA - Phoenix Contact Inc. has expanded its Modular Automation capabilities with the introduction of a multi-axis positioning controller. The module is designed to offer an intermediate solution between manual change over and total servo control. This embedded control application allows the user to do automatic machine set up using existing controls. Communication of parameters and motion commands is done over a device level network. Up to 10 axes of motion can be controlled in a modular system using the new IB IL POS 200 module. Additional function modules can easily be added.
To create a modular positioning system, these functional modules consist of DC Servo amplifiers for drive control and absolute and incremental encoder input modules with built-in I/O for position measurement. Additional analog and digital I/O modules can also be incorporated into the design.
