Softing Launches New CANbus PC (PCMCIA) Interface Card



Newburyport, MA - The new Softing CANcard 2 PCMCIA interface card allows a user total mobility in accessing CANbus and DeviceNet networks while using a notebook computer with a PCMCIA expansion slot. With powerful 'plug and play' performance, the CANcard 2 allows users to change complete communication interfaces without any interruption by simply pressing a key.

The CANcard 2 offers dual 9 pin connection ports (2 independent channels) and can transfer data at a rate up to 1Mbit/s. Requirements for the CANcard 2 includes a PC
(notebook or desktop) with a type II PC card slot, Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0 or Windows CE. Fully compatible with Softing's universal CANbus API's, the CANcard 2 reduces retrofitting time and eliminates repeated interface configuration allowing further flexibility.
