HessAmerica Fiora Delivers Low Brightness, Outdoor Indirect Illumination

Product Summary: Fiora —high-performance indirect luminaire delivers high design and visual interest to contemporary architecture.

Design: German architect KarstenWinkels

Manufacturer: HessAmerica, U.S. subsidiary of Hess GmbH Licht+Form of Germany.

Product Applications: Fiora adds a distinctive signature to feature spaces with dramatic styling and high-performance, low brightness indirect illumination. It is well-suited for use in modern city scapes, including pedestrian and cultural areas; luxury condominiums, corporate and entertainment complexes; private school and university campuses; urban parks and gardens, and upscale retail and hospitality installations.

Product Description: Fiora immediately impresses with hints of luxurious metal and glass. Decorative satin anodized rings, spun from aluminum, surround the cast aluminum housing to accent the luminaire form. Four acrylic struts, molded in a “C” profile rise up to support the acrylic roof and facetted secondary reflector panel in dramatic fashion. Green tinting of the support struts and roof mimic the elegant look of glass. The seven foot tall luminaire is paired with a thirteen foot inverted taper pole for an overall height of twenty feet.

Fiora incorporates a sophisticated indirect optical system designed around the compact 150w T6 ceramic metal halide source. The primary reflector projects a narrow beam of light upward to the facetted secondary reflector. Individual facets split the light beam into smaller, less intense lamp images and redirect light downward, producing uniform, low brightness illumination. The precision injection molded facets are vacuum-metalized with a high purity aluminum coating and protected by a double layer of clear coat for long term durability. Fiora is available in four optical configurations to provide symmetric or asymmetric light distributions for wide or narrow areas.

Construction and Finishes: Luminaire housing is cast aluminum. The roof is spun aluminum. Four acrylic struts are molded from acrylic. The primary reflector is spun aluminum with a specular finish. Secondary facets are injection-molded from medical quality plastic with high resiliency under extremes of hot and cold temperatures. Lens is tempered glass.

The inverted tapered-steel pole is hot-dip galvanized prior to painting for proven long-term corrosion protection. Standard colors are finely textured matte silver-gray metallic or graphite-gray. Special colors are available on request. All hardware is stainless steel.
