Industrial Scientific Introduces M40M Multi-Gas Monitor for Mining Applications
PITTSBURGH, PA - Industrial Scientific is pleased to offer the M40M, a multi-gas monitor designed to provide optimum personal protection in mines and other work environments where hazardous levels of oxygen, methane, carbon monoxide and/or hydrogen sulfide may be present.
Weighing just 8.6 ounces (243 g), the small, ergonomically designed monitor has a large custom LCD display for continuous real-time gas readings and a unique amber backlight to provide clear display visibility in underground and other low-light conditions. International graphic symbols and a four-button interface provide intuitive instrument setup, operation and calibration, while the M40M's five second "Off" feature prevents unintentional shut-offs. The MSHA-approved M40M is housed in a rugged, impact resistant case to provide superior performance and durability in harsh environments. The monitor bears an ingress protection rating of IP65 and is resistant to radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference.
Other M40M standard features include a continuous loop datalogger, peak/hold functions, STEL and TWA readings, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for up to 18 hours of continuous runtime. When gas concentrations exceed preset limits, the M40M alerts the user with bright visual and 90-dB alarms and activates an internal vibrating alarm for high-noise environments. Each M40M monitor carries a two-year all-inclusive warranty and comes equipped with a charger, nylon carrying case, cell-phone belt clip and calibration cup with tubing.
Optional accessories for the M40M include a compact parasitic sampling pump that enables remote sampling from up to 50 feet away, and a calibration station featuring simple, two button operation for instrument bump testing and calibration.
