CINCINNATI, OH (December 28, 2001) -SETCO Sales Company introduces a new line of high efficiency/high torque Motorized Compact Spindles (MCS), the ideal solution for precision finishing, drilling and milling applications.
Available in three standard models -MCS-1, MCS-1HS. and MCS-2 -MCS spindles deliver a robust combination of speed and power to support precision machining.
MCS spindles are standard equipped with a 40mm triplex class 7 DTDB front bearing arrangement offering high thrust and heavy-duty performance in a compact package.
Featuring high efficiency permanent magnet DC brushless motors, MCS spindles supply balanced power and torque. The MCS-1 delivers up to 49 in-lbs of torque and 3.1hp at 5,000 rpm. The MCS-1HS, the high-speed model, delivers up to 4.4 hp at
12,000 rpm and 23 in-lbs of torque.
For heavy-duty applications the MCS-2 is the high torque model, with up to 108 in-lbs of torque, 8 hp at 5,000 rpm.
The MCS are standard equipped with grease lubricated bearings, permanent magnet DC brushless motor, liquid motor cooling ports. independent variable speed control, and exclusive AirShield(TM) sealing system for nose end bearings.
As options, the MCS can be configured for thru-spindle coolant and a variety of spindle nose configurations: Komet/ABS®, Collet, FL/FAS-LOC® and others as custom ordered. Standard MCS spindles are offered with a six to eight week shipment and are covered by a one-year warranty.
MCS spindles provide a unique combination of speed and power in a compact package. They can be used as a single spindle, or clustered for an effective drill head configuration. Custom designs are welcome and include special configurations and feed packages.
